Welcome to the
GCDF-I/CMCS/CSCDA-I
Services Page

The  Facilitator Career Development (FCD) certification is offered through the National Career Development Association (NCDA) This course has widespread use in our state and worldwide.  Individuals with GCDF certification or any of the six NCDA credentials can provide career development services in many venues:  schools, workforce centers, employment agencies, and human resource offices, to name only a few. A person completing the FCD course has several options for certification and/or credentials:

1.  Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) credentialing is provided                 through  the Center  for Credentialing and Education (CCE)

       AND/OR

2.  National Career Development Association (NCDA) offers professional credentialing which you can learn about here

I am credentialed through both CCE and NCDA as a Global Career Development Facilitator Instructor (CCE), Certified Master of Career Services (CMCS through NCDA), and Certified School Career Development Advisor and Instructor (CSCDA-I through NCDA).  You can find my NCDA bio here.

SW services can provide services to you in two ways:

1.  Professional development that meets the 12 GCDF competencies and counts toward the 75 hours required for GCDF certification every five years.  See the "Professional Development" page for suggested presentations or contact me to develop a personalized presentation.

2.  As a GCDF Instructor/FCD Instructor through NCDA, I can provide training to individuals wanting to complete the 120-hour FCD course and assist in preparing paperwork for GCDF certification and/or NCDA credentials.

The course is a hybrid of online/e-learning and 24 hours (required) of face-to-face meetings.  See specifics within each syllabus.

What people are saying:

  • This was amazing class! Sherry was definitely a class act who made this training meaningful to us all as she had to amazingly readjust an entire training module in the "eye" of the Covid-19 pandemic. Sherry, what you did was simply amazing! Thanks for hanging in there with us and may God continue to bless you.

  • This course really gave me the foundation to start my career as a career advisor to college students. The instructor was very knowledgable and effective in teaching me skills necessary to get maximum results in a college setting. Job Well Done!

  • Mrs. Williams is an excellent instructor! I look forward to meeting up with her in the very near future. Outstanding class.

  • If "true +" were an option, I would give the instructor this rating for mastery of information, organization, responsiveness, stated expectations, and accessibility. My technology skills were enhanced in two significant ways - 1) using Powerpoint to create presentations and 2) exposure to Canvas. My current employer is switching from Blackboard to Canvas in Spring 2021 and I gained valuable insight from a student perspective. I am currently using my new Powerpoint skills to create a presentation for incoming Freshman on Freshman Success. I also plan to pursue my GCDF moving forward and I appreciate the instructor's thorough presentation on certification options. Many thanks to my instructor, Sherry Williams.

  • This course was demanding and well done. It made me aware of many opportunitities and options for me(my future) and for my students.

  • I really enjoyed the class and was actually a bit sad when we had our last face to face. It was great to be together with other professionals who all had different backgrounds and different areas of expertise. I think Sherry brought a wealth of knowledge to the class and every session I found myself asking how in the world does she remember all of this information. It was really great to do the break out's and get a chance to work in a smaller group and get a bit more personal with other classmates, I think that was another great aspect of the class. It was a tremendous amount of information to work through, but I think it was broken down well and was manageable. All in all, it was a great experience, and will hopefully prove to be a game changer for me in the future.
