I have been a Licensed Social Worker for more than 30 years serving as an abuse investigator and Director of Social Work Services and Community Relations for the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs.  After moving to Greenwood, SC in 2001, I began career counseling at Piedmont Technical College as the Women’s Grant and Non-traditional Studies Coordinator and a Career Transition Specialist. Moving back to Lexington, SC in 2006, I began working in Lexington School District 2 at Busbee Creative Arts Academy as the Career Specialist and in 2007, joined the Education and Economic Development Act Team at the SC Department of Education where I served as the Career Specialist liaison/advocate and an Alternative School liaison until August 2014.  Desiring to work again with students, I began working with Lexington High School in Lexington School District 1 in August 2014 Career Specialist until July 1, 2016, when I was promoted to the Coordinator of Leadership Curriculum and Partnerships for the district. 

I received my BA and M.Ed degrees from Columbia College, am a licensed Social Worker through the SC Department of Labor and Licensing, a GCDF-Instructor and SCDA instructor registered with the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE),  MBTI Step 1 and 2 certified through the Myers Briggs Corporation,  a Certified Master of Career Services (CMCS) and Certified School Career Development Advisor (CSCDA) and Instructor (SCDAI) through NCDA.
