ABOUT SW SERVICES

Welcome to SW Solutions!

Thank you for your interest in SW Solutions, a specialized service delivery of individual and/or group professional and/or personal and career development services.

For seven years, I provided leadership to career specialists, guidance counselors, administrators, and other stakeholders as a member of the SC Department of Education's Education and Economic Development Act Team where my experience included planning, developing, coordinating, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating processes and procedures on a daily basis to include the administration of a $22 million budget for career specialists.  I worked in consultation and collaboration with other division directors, institutional representatives, K-12 agencies, post-secondary colleges, the military, and other stakeholders to design and implement agency and statewide work plans.   Additionally, I provided consultation, training, and compliance services to alternative school directors in our state.

As a grants administrator and career counselor at Piedmont Technical College, I provided one-on-one career services to college students and high school seniors regarding college entrance requirements, financial aid, freshman college skills classes, and helped develop articulation agreements for dual credit.

Prior to working in education, I was employed by the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs as the Director of Social Work Services, Community Relations, and Public Relations, as a forensically-trained abuse investigator, and as a member of the Consumer Assessment Team.

I am a cancer survivor who loves to tell my story to encourage others to stand confidently in the face of any adversity.

My career diversity has provided me with a wealth of opportunities to display my synthesizing skills, synergetic abilities, empathy, leadership, and service delivery skills.  Having worked as a director of social work, counselor, supervisor, investigator, public relations and community educator, human rights and bio-ethics reviewer, training developer, and facilitator has provided me with a diverse combination of experiences that could benefit your training needs.  My work ethic, time management, stress management, and being an independent self-starter, have brought compliments from coworkers, subordinates, and supervisors.

My degrees and licenses in sociology, world religions, social work, Global Career Development Facilitator Instructor, and a Master’s in Education have given me a broad base of service delivery on a personal and group basis with people of diverse backgrounds.  Because both my license in social work and my certification as a GCDF require an annual minimum of 20 hours of professional development, I am always abreast of the latest research and best practices on which to develop programs and processes.

I look forward to using my education and experience to provide you and your constituents with the best services to meet your needs - whether the service is one-on-one career development assistance or professional development opportunities for conferences.
